The Bean

Called "The Bean" by locals, Cloud Gate is a magnificent public sculpture on AT&T Plaza in Millennium Park. Created by artist Anish Kapoor, the Bean is gigantic elliptical sculpture made of unified steel plates. Resembling a mammoth drop of liquid mercury, Cloud Gate’s mirrored surface reflects Chicago’s skyline and the clouds above. Snap a photo to see your image from unique perspectives.

Ice Skating at Millennium Park

The McCormick Tribune Ice Rink offers free ice skating from mid-November to mid-March. Located on Michigan Avenue between Washington and Madison Streets, the skating rink is one of the park’s most exciting winter attractions and offers skate rentals for only $10. Friday through Sunday, one hour before the rink opens, you can enjoy free ice skating lessons. Glide around the ice and enjoy beautiful views of the park and Chicago’s breathtaking cityscape.
